When I arrived on the grounds of GCSU as a naive and timid Freshman, I was overwhelmed by the amount of organizations on campus. Surprisingly I was never much of a leader or anything close to that in High School. I was what you would call your “average student.” I made average grades, did average in sports, and honestly there was truly nothing that pushed me to be anything more then average. I had planned to go to college, get good grades, and graduate. All of that changed when I stepped onto the court of the Wellness Center for the 9th annual Dance Marathon. Over the next 12 hours, I was completely swept off my feet with the amazement, wonder, and beauty that was Dance Marathon. At the end of Dance Marathon, I applied to be on the Executive Board, not completely realizing what I was getting myself into. I was ultimately offered the position of Alumni Relations and the rest is history. While not immediate, I have slowly become more passionate, more fearless, more loving, more selfless, and more inspired by this tremendous movement that has impacted me in more ways then people will ever realize. You always hear people talking about the amazing things that GC Miracle has done for them, so I want to take a minute to thank GC Miracle for the amazing things it has done for me. So once again, thank you GC Miracle……for everything.
