Today I am participating in Georgia College Miracle’s 14th Annual Dance Marathon! We have been fundraising all year long for our local Children’s Hospital in Macon. Until midnight, I’ll be standing on my feet to raise awareness for all the kids who can’t. We have a goal to raise $300,000 by the end of the night – we need you! All donations go straight to the Children’s Hospital to fund life-saving programs for these so deserving kids. If you want to support me, please visit my fundraising page: (insert fundraising page link)

Did you know 62 children enter a Miracle Network hospital every MINUTE? Childhood illness is a cause worth fighting for, these kids have their entire future ahead of them… and they need our help. I am taking a stand for the kids and working with GC Miracle, an organization at my college dedicated to raising money for the kids. I have a personal fundraising goal of $_____. Help lighten the burden of medical expenses, stand with me, and make tomorrow possible for these oh so deserving kids. Click on my fundraising page below and read more about why I stand. #Leenastrong fundraising push hour template

On May 7, 2016, Leena was diagnosed with stage 4, high-risk neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer. Leena endured 19 months of strenuous treatment, including chemotherapy, proton radiation, stem cell transplants, bone marrow transplants, surgeries, and countless blood transfusions.

For many months, Leena's health and happiness was nothing short of a miracle, and her family relished every opportunity to make memories. Her wish to meet Elsa came true with a trip to Disney World through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and her community came together to give Leena one last Christmas in late November.

Around midnight on December 3, 2017, Leena finished her battle with cancer and was laid to rest in Covington, Ga.

Leena's story is a common one for people who interact with children's healthcare. Many families are left in a constant battle with childhood illness which weighs heavily on their lives.

Today, GC Miracle is raising money for a new children's hospital to be built in Macon, Georgia. But this hour is about much more than that. Leena Strong hour is about honoring a girl who, even through pain and suffering, provided so much light and happiness in the world. A girl who battled to the very end. In honor of her, we raise money so that those who follow in her footsteps can have a more fair fight. Today, we are #LeenaStrong.
